the i-dee

lists such as the one from last entry, as well as all the ones that we receive over email (although, i'll admit, i used to get way more of them than i do now), are incredibly indicative of our insecurities as fluid cosmic beings...(yeah, yeah, tm, pulling out your hippie bullshit...)...no, listen [read:"read"], the way that we choose our favourites (etc), are all part of a way to distinguish ourselves as individuals...that is, establishing an identity that clearly delineates us as seperate from everyone else, and different, if not only in the certain combination of favourites...of course, we also yearn for sameness, but not without firmly establishing borders in between...as foucault has outlined, at some point in our history, we went from caring about ourselves, to striving to know ourselves...in my opinion, this is where the boundaries stiffened...in an attempt to "find ourself" as an individual, others around us got pushed away...however, when caring was in the forefront, it would have done as much good to be concerned about others as oneself...therefore, i think the lines would have been a bit more hazy between 'self' and 'other'...

now, don't get me wrong, i'm not trying to say that "the old way is the good way" or anything like that...i'm just acknowledging the self-fulfilling dimension of the following statements...which i, furthermore, hope that y'all will try on for size yourselves, just so that i can have reassurance that you have individual capacities to fill in the blanks, and therefore confirm that you are not just figments of my imagination (although, honestly, nothing will completely convince me of this)...

the "let's all make sure we're not all one whole breathing universe together" list

favourite toothpaste: 'kiss my face' aloe vera

singer that will most likely make me cry: macy gray

most life-changing experience: in the room with death

favourite colour of socks: blue with white stripes (although i have none of my own...i'm just incredibly jealous, and sometimes steal, pixi-dust's)

most annoying thing about sidewalks: there aren't enough painted ones

favourite soundtrack for a movie i've never seen: natural born killers

reason that i would survive if i lost everything i have: because i'm not sure it's real anyways

favourite neighbour: the family with the beautiful girls and vines creeping around their front porch

best experience on a rooftop: going back to my hometown and hanging out on top of my elementary school, where i had, at recesses, always watched, with extreme envy any workers who graced the roof...

ok, that's it for now...maybe i will lengthen it another time, maybe not...

backward and forward
